Shepherd - Wellington

Eva Street is a great spot for brunch. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The bread was fresh, the chicken was tender, and the two sauces on the sandwich gave it a fantastic flavor. The chips were also tasty and crispy. The mimosa complimented the meal perfectly.

Are here a few times and always enjoy the creative and surprising dishes in the offer (re fish wing! . this is the first time since they renovated and really enjoyed their Asian inspired menu. great service and atmosphere, the only light leaving was the dessert selection, but that was just a personal taste question. 4.5 stars.

Lovely setting, beautiful and delicious food, great staff. Shepherd is vibrant, sophisticated, novel fun. Few eateries have managed to impress across brunch, nibbles, dinner or a tipple for numerous visits over the years but Shepherd Elliot's stellar venue always does.

Our first time at Shepherd. I have been told that brunch is amazing there by many people. Is it really though? I would say the food was nice, but not amazing. The salad with fried chicken was average. The Waffle with Persimmons was disappointing, I was expecting more flavor to enhance the fruitiness in the dish. The Cashew Truffle Mushroom made up for it as it was balanced hitting the right notes. The ambiance was very pleasant, somewhat intimate yet very open. Well done! The access to the restaurant is daunting.. with a pram, as many steps to climb to get our table. The staff is GOLD by all means. Very friendly and helpful. Everyone seemed to get along well. I enjoyed seeing pretty much all of the waiters and cooks smile during our service. The bottomless coffee service reminded me of breakfast and brunch restaurants in North America. Thank you, and we appreciate waiters being proactive with refills without us waving for their attention. Will definitely return for dinner!

I gave Shepherd an extra star for the lovely staff they have. The food drinks however are definitely one star quality. Really shocked at how bad the food was based on the reviews and awards. Ordered the smoked fish for an entree, it was served with an overly sweet and tangy corn and egg mixture, tasted like cheap mayonnaise. The lamb dish was too sweet, tough and greasy. Cold lamb served with a sweet beetroot purée and more roast beetroot on the side. Not balanced or enjoyable. Parts of the chicken were dry and tough however the parsnip purée was nice. The cocktails were just bland.
