Wellies, as this place is affectionately known is a traditional boozer with a friendly vibe serving real ales, malt whiskies and pub grub. Adjacent to the County Buildings and Courthouse. Live sessions and entertainment through the weekend. Sport on TV and free wifi. Worth a viit!
Our home away from home in Ayr. Mick and Nan have run this wonderful, homey pub for over 20 years. Always a warm fire and friendly atmosphere. We held a party here for close friends before our daughter 's wedding. It was a fine event. They feature local ales and lagers. Nice whisky selection; reasonable lunch selection. We always drop in to say hi when visiting Ayr.
Part of our xmas tradition. You can find this bar by looking out for the giant welly boot outside. It has cheap drink and great wee basement bar friendly staff, cosy and cheap. I love visiting wellies when I am back in town! I don't know why they decided to rip out the insides and make it look more pubby as I liked it more when it felt like you were sitting in somebodies living room. The food is good because it is very simple toasties, baked potatos and chips.
Doesn't look much from the outside, but inside there's a good atmosphere and a lovely coal fire (great on winter evenings). It's generally fairly quiet, but has good entertainment check out the Sunday night acoustic folk session. Well worth a listen. Good beer, good value and tasty food what more do you want?
