The restaurant is very romantic and quiet. it is a great place for a date. the tapas we had were delicious! my man and I brought our 7 months old daughter. she was a little chatting, but our server was very attentive and made sure we took care of it.
The restaurant is located in a villa in the outskirts of weiden, which they probably need to know before about its existence, otherwise the situation is not so obvious. the concept and many of the menu items are Spanish or Spanish inspired and are actually quite loyal to the original concept. I was invited here for dunes a venening, and when we arrived, the place seemed free, but after half an hour the place was filled. we shared some tapas as starters that well composed, fresh and tasty. the wein was a white from conca de barbera (only outside of barcelona,) which had exactly the right balance between obst and acid. as a main course I had the lamb frame that was local products, was told to me. it was very delicate and juicy and braided on a perfect light pink color we stayed with the same white for the main course and it could easily carry the meat. the service was nice and helpful, but I would suggest that a somewhat deeper knowledge about the weeping on the weeping list would not be so much helpful in wein.
We had a little annoyed to find the place and from outside it didn't look like that. but when they enter the front door, everything changes. the decor is uplifted and slightly artistic. I recommend to dress up as the restaurant is obviously meant...for special occasions. but on a Tuesday night it did not seem so important when the restaurant was completely empty. the menu is Spanish cuisine. it is very similar to what they find in other Spanish style restaurants in weiden. they offer tapas, salads, main dishes, daily specialties and desserts. they also have a beautiful wine card, and I can recommend their home wine on the glass. the food was well prepared. the claws in garlic were good, but the cheese filled mushrooms were amazing! I had the fish plate and found it very well prepared. 5 different types of fishing prepared in 5 different styles. I was a bit disappointed by the sauce. it seemed a little more than mayonnaise, but at least it was on the side and I could ignore it. for dessert I can recommend the cherry and mango sorbet. the presentation was pleasant and the sweet aromen were a wonderful finish. overall we really enjoyed our cozy and romantic dinner. everything was right. if the restaurant was full, it might have been a bit annoying, as it became cozy.
This is a great place for a quiet night or a date. The food is outstanding and very fresh. I've been to Barcelona and I can honestly say that the Polenta at Casa Andalusia is on par with some of the best! The wine list...is not large, but what they do have is quality and easily paired with the menu. The staff is very friendly and patient with my bad German! I have a friend who's been here and thought it was pricey, I disagree. Main course menu items on average are around 15-20Euro and I found the quality is well worth it. I would definitely recommend Andalusia.
