Had the Chicken Tikka Lababdar and it was fantastic, flavour overload! Highly recommended!!!

Called ahead for some lunch takeout (Palak paneer, butter chicken and samosas). Would pass on the samosas next time (chewy wrapped) BUT the main dishes tasted AMAZING and was more than ample for 2. I also grabbed a couple Kingfisher beers to go, which save me a trip to the LCBO.Butter chicken was comprised of marinated white chicken meat (versus unseasoned chicken, which I detest) and had a good thick sauce. Palak paneer had a nice thick texture and didn't become runny/watery by the time I got home or even by dinnertime. Naan was the pillowy soft bready type made fresh (as should be). Would definitely grab takeout again if in the area or eat in for a quick lunch. Note: this review is for takeout only, this is a mom/Pop shop located in a flex industrial complex, so not a date night venue.

Family run Indian restaurant in Mississauga, going on 30 years, specializing in all sorts of traditional Indian cuisine, offering both take out and dine in service. Head chef trained in India and Scotland. Best known for the butter chicken, lababdar, smoky chicken tikka, naan bread selection, the list goes on. Prices haven't gone much over the years (by comparison) and over time, the owner/chef get to know their customers by name. Families/children are welcome. This an old school restaurant full of familiar faces with orders still taken on paper; once in a while you can catch members of the family helping out with take out orders and dine in service. The 2 chefs in the kitchen are the same 2 who have been preparing the best Indian food in Mississauga for the last ~30 years. Be sure to give it a try before the owner finally locks up and decides to retire (he jokes about this constantly). A true gem in Mississauga IYKYK.

The Shish Mahal is a tiny place on the Ridgeway in Missisauga. You can easily miss it unless you are looking for it and there are many big restaurants in the vicinity. But the Shish Mahal stands out. It's small, it's not fancy but the two outstanding things here are first the Service with a 5 star smile. With the people working here, both old people, are terrific. War, living and they have the correct suggestions for what you should eat. . The food is simply fantastic. I would recommend a first visit and warn you that it can be addictive.
