Until today we really liked this cafe. But today upon returning from the washroom I was hauled to one side by the owner and told that the washroom was strictly for staff only. He’d over look it this time (lucky cause I don’t know how to reverse the process) but I should not use it again. But what made it strange is that on previous occasions I’d asked staff where is the washroom/could o use it and they’d directed me to it. Can you really have a sit down cafe and expect no customers to need the washroom. Doesn’t matter I guess because we won’t darken his doorstep ever again!
We have had only had great service here from other staff until this morning. The woman behind the counter glared at me when I came in the door and it only went downhill from there. (Yes, I am still wearing a mask because my family situation demands I be more cautious than most folks and we are still wearing masks in indoor spaces and practicing social distancing -I am happy the mandates have been lifted and we are coming out of this thing but I have to be more careful than most folks right now. When this women finished serving the customer in front of me, she found many other tasks that needed doing rather than serve me. When she finally had to acknowledge me, she did so in a manner that was rude, hostile and completely unprofessional. She gave me a flat stare and and said 'what ' and when I provided my order, she literally rolled her eyes and said 'sure ' in the same tone. I was too shocked to say anything, I have never experienced that level of abuse from anyone and I am not going to ever again. Any establishment that thinks it 's ok to treat their customers like that does not deserve to stay in business. Judging from the other comments here citing the same behaviour from this woman, this has been going on for awhile. There are so many other great places in Oakville that do not inflict their political views or bad tempers on their customers and they will be getting my business.
First I will start off by saying the food and sweets are delicious. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. Yesterday I went to pick up an order I had made over the phone. I got to the cafe at 2:40pm and they close at 3pm. There were 2 customers ahead of me that ordered 4 drinks each. There was only the owner working. When it came to my turn, I added 3 lattes at the counter. The sleeves are too big for the small to go cups and they didn't fit tightly in tray. I placed them on the floor of my car. As soon as I started driving, they tipped over spilling, completely emptying over the 50 dollars worth of cookies I had just bought (I managed to save the cookies. I immediately went back and the door was closed. The man came to door and said he turned the coffee machine off and slammed the door in my face. The next day I called back to talk to him. I explained the situation and said that at least he should replace the lattes. He said it was my bad driving, not the cups/sleeves and THEN proceeded to say that he kept the cafe open for me after closing time. I was there at 2:40 pm and waited 20 mins for him to make 8 drinks ahead of me AND he served 2 people after me. Not only was he not taking accountability, he down right lied. He should be ashamed.
Not even sure where to start . I would suggest no one going there . 1. They charge us the wrong prices , menu has one price , they charged us another price 2. During this pandemic , your suppose to clean tables before sitting other guest they don't do that I saw a couple get seated and the tables were not even clean or sanitized from the previous guests 3. The owner has to much ego issues . He is racist and does not care about your concern , very rude . If you want to spread covid this is the place to go .!
