Contribuiți la feedbackFor just $7, you can enjoy four tacos and a Mexican soda, making it an excellent choice for a casual date night. The tacos are outstanding, and the ceviche is truly exceptional. Don't miss out on this hidden gem that perfectly represents the idea of a "hole in the wall."
Tucked away next to a bodega and a bluegrass music store, just off exit 19 of I26 North and across from CVS, this unpretentious gem serves as a satellite of the fantastic Taqueria Fast on Weaver Boulevard. It offers what might be the best value lunch in Western North Carolina. Essentially a food truck connected to a storefront with a few booths, the dining area usually features a Mexican soap opera or a soccer game on TV. The Mexican street tacos are top-notch at just $1.50 each. Alongside classic options like pork, chicken, and shrimp, adventurous eaters can also try tripe or tongue tacos. If you're fortunate, you might find ceviche tostada on the menu. This spot is a true delight for food lovers!
This place is truly a hidden gem! We live close by and had no idea it was here. It’s a small shop situated in a modest strip mall. As you enter, you walk past a few tables and find a food truck in the back. You can place your order and enjoy your meal at one of the tables, either indoors or outdoors. The owner, Roberto, was incredibly friendly and even offered us some samples to try. The ceviche was absolutely delicious! We also sampled a barbacoa plate and a fish taco plate, both of which were fantastic. They make a variety of homemade hot sauces, all fresh and bursting with flavor. Everything we tasted was delightful. I also found out they have another location in Woodfin that we need to check out. I’m just so excited to have discovered this authentic Mexican restaurant!
I’m familiar with Taqueria Fast and have enjoyed dining at their brick-and-mortar location in Woodfin. Gladys is truly a culinary genius. Tonight, we had the pleasure of eating at their food truck where Gladys's husband, Roberto, is the chef. The menu is more straightforward with a limited selection. We tried the fish tacos, a few authentic tacos, and some freshly made guacamole. Everything was perfect—delicious and served promptly. Roberto and his assistant were quiet, funny, and gracious throughout our meal. Since it’s December, the dining area was wonderfully heated by a wood stove. The sauces were homemade and incredibly fresh. We even took home eight tamales to enjoy with wine and appetizers before our Christmas dinner. Weaverville is fortunate to have such culinary treasures. Whether you prefer Gladys's or Roberto's cooking, take your time sampling their menu. They both excel at crafting authentic Mexican street food.
