The Eight Bells - Wealden

This pub is amazing - they have a wide range of gluten-free options and a great understanding of coeliac disease. I tried the burger and it was delicious. My husband and mother-in-law ordered the fish and chips and the braised oxtail, both dishes were excellent.

I went for Sunday lunch and found the restaurant to be very busy. Despite this, they seated us earlier than expected and indicated the gluten-free options clearly. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive. The roast beef came with a gluten-free Yorkshire pudding, which was delicious. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

This gastro-pub offers a menu that changes regularly and includes a variety of gluten-free and dairy-free options. During my visit, I was able to enjoy gluten-free fish and chips and scotch eggs. These items were made gluten-free for all customers to prevent cross-contamination. The staff were well-informed about cross-contamination and other allergies. Despite staff shortages due to COVID, the service was excellent.

The customer service at this restaurant was awful, the food was bland and poorly presented, and it was overpriced for the quality. We will not be coming back.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, especially the dauphinois and Stilton pie. The staff is attentive and fantastic. Prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend this place.
