Shkodé Chophouse - Wayland

I’ve been to Ruth chris in GR and most of the big expensive steak houses in Chicago and Denver. The New York strip I ate here was on par and very excellently cooked and served and the quality was phenomenal. The price is low here. I can’t believe some of these other reviews and was astounded to see this place’s overall rating. After reading several negative reviews prior to our visit, I was curious how our meal would be. We had a very positive experience! Our server, Kimone, was wonderful. We were there for our anniversary and they went out of their way to make our meal special and even comping us a dessert of our choice. Shrimp appetizer was crisp and cooked exactly as they should be. Steaks were cooked perfectly. We were even asked if they were the temperature we were expecting. We have been to other chop houses before and this rates right up there with them! But let’s be clear, if you are thinking you are going to Brann’s Steakhouse, it is not! We even commented that we would go back to sit at the bar and just order appetizers in the future. Also, we couldn’t even hear the casino noises, but if you want a quieter experience, ask to be seated behind the fireplace. The atmosphere is really nice and so it’s the service. However the food is mediocre and very pricy. The 10 oz fillet mignon looked very small and the meet choice looked average but not aligned to the high price. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

14 family members enjoyed an outstanding meal together. All the appetizers were mouthwatering; the ribs were especially delicious and the firecracker shrimp and crab cake were to die for! I think we had every steak on the menu in every size. Everyone was pleased. My filet mignon was perfectly medium rare and so flavorful. The sides we had were yummy potatoes and macaroni and cheese. The cheese sauce was very creamy and the blend of cheeses was spot on. We tried every dessert on the menu. Our favorites were the cheesecake, crème brûlée, sorbet and gelato. Our server Sarah did a wonderful job of caring for large group ranging in age from 2 to 88. I would recommend a night at Shkode to any family.
