Excellent quality fish and chips cooked to order so always fresh. Highly recommend this chip shop. There cod bites, battered sausage, savoy and chips are excellent
New management maybe but, no change to the stink of stale grease, fat fish which still permeates the entire area. It is very off-putting terribole for the local area. Certainly lives up to the title of UKs smelliest chippy.
This fish and chip shop is now under new management All reviews before the new owners should be takn down. I stopped going here because the quality of food was so bad, but I thought I would give it another try. I am so glad I did, at last we have a decent fish and cip shop in Upper Hale,
In my opinion, every business in the UK is facing challenges, and I have noticed restaurants closing or experiencing issues with service quality. However, the changes at this particular restaurant have been happening quickly. I have always been a bit worried about the quality of certain items, such as the batter. Recently, they posted a sign stating that their card machine was not working, which raised some concerns. As for the food, I usually come here for the Cod Roe, without chips to cut down. Unfortunately, during my last visit, I found the prices to be overly expensive - £12.00 for a large cod with chips, 2 savaloys, and a battered sausage, and £5.00 for two cod roes. The portion size of the roe was disappointingly small, especially considering it used to be good and reasonably priced at £4.00. This will likely be my last visit to this restaurant.
