Absolutely fantastic fish and chips, served with a pot of mushy peas and a really nice Tartare Sauce. The staff were extremely friendly and checked that our food ŵas okay. The place was clean and right on the beach. Highly recommended this
Thank you to all the friendly staff who have made me so welcome and for the great food served. Not only is it great value for money, but also tastes yummy. Scotts on the pier is definitely going places.
I have visited this place over many years and all has been very good and offered a range of items on the Menu all very nicely presented and of good quolity. It closed for a while then recently opened up again under New Managemen/owners. It now only offers Fish Chips, that really are well below standard. Have owned 3 award Fish and Chip Shops, some serious training is needed and a totle review of the business should be conciderd. I called in today for breakfast, the weather was grim, but not as grim as the interior of this establishment. Certainly it's gone down hill. Very dark and dingy, even though it is right on the peir itself, with tremendous views it failed to impress. However the staff are always welcomeing. I had a full English Breakfast and a pot of tea. Very good value and reasonably well cooked by the Young inexperienced cook. Two eggs, one rasher of bacon, two sausage and lots of mushrooms. However l was told they were out of beans! The Cook tried his best, but then spilled it by staking the items into a large soup bowl, very dated, although I have never been served breakfast that way. Mushrooms not quite cooked, plenty and pulled in the centre of the bowl topped with the one rasher of bacon, on top of that two slightly undercooked eggs. With two sausage holing up the sides. I can see that the young lad Chef /Cook was trying to emulate celeberaty Chefs, but it's not needed in a simple Caffee. I guess he was just dropped in there and expected to perform. Give this keen youngster a chance and get him some proper training. Finally apart from the drab seroundings the tables were extremely sticky, my arms readily sticking fast to them. They are all coves with grease, the result of cleaning down with a wet cloth. All these tables that are mish mash need compleatly stripping and revarnishing if not, which would be the best, compleatly replacing. Such a great location, but even in the summer month very quite, which speaks for itself. A near by restaurant The Thatched Cottage is the better option. I hope this review will be taken in the Manor of which it was given. Great Venue, but really does need work. The staff deserve the support as they are very welcoming and are doing there best and are a big asset.
Me and my other half were passing, this looked like a lovely spot to stop and have a coffee *the coffee was rather nice and reasonable considering the wonderful view from the restaurant which surpassed its self, we pondered why is it not busier here with such a great view! then we noted that scotts offered chips. id usually have had by buttered kippers but as we had been on a deadline we opted to have chips.. a large chips at 2.50! wow must be a big portion, but no! I was rather annoyed to have a plate brought to me with a small handful of under cooked chips; I asked the man if id infact be given a small chips..... but no.... he said and i quote ill put some more on there mate however i was then further frustrated as he topped my plate with small burnt parts from the fryer. a great place for a coffee and wonderful views but dont expect to have a fulfilling lunch.
