Contribuiți la feedbackAs a stranger to the area, checked the website that shows the shop was open. It wasn't so went to the other shop at the other side of town, where the food was excellent ,the staff friendly and very busy, good luck to them. They deserve it.
This restaurant experience was absolutely terrible. We had to wait a long time because the man running the place was taking one person's order, cooking and serving it before taking the next order. When our group of six finally received our food and opened the wrappers, we were greeted by a horrible smell. The chips were burnt, the cod was undercooked and smelled bad, and the sausages and battered burger were also undercooked. It seemed like the fryers needed to be refilled with fat as there was too much in the paper. The taste was sour and fatty, indicating that the oil hadn't been changed in a while. This was extremely disappointing, as we had visited this restaurant before and it had always been good. We heard that the place is up for sale, and based on our experience, we're not surprised. We won't be returning until new owners take over and hopefully revitalize the place. We spent over £30 between us only to have to throw the entire meal in a hedge for the birds. This was honestly the worst dining experience I've ever had.
I visited this restaurant based on their website indicating they were open. When I called to place an order, a man answered in a rude manner and said they were closed. I mentioned that their website said they were open, to which he simply said it must have been an oversight. I was shocked and disappointed by his attitude. I decided to order from a different chip shop in town, where the staff was friendly, polite, and efficient. The food was also delicious. I will definitely choose to dine there in the future.
We were lucky enough to be in Aldeburgh for the first Saturday of the month so we made straight for Halesworth (after a morning of sunshine and showers on Dunwich beach) for their wonderful once-a-month GF fish and chips. Delicious haddock (and skate) in what was definitely the crispiest, tastiest gluten free batter we have ever had (and we have sampled a few, from Belsize Park to Whitby. Full marks to this unassuming-looking little village take-away for really excellent food, and their friendly welcome.
This is the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. The fish batter was completely burnt and not edible, dripping with grease. The chips were overcooked and tough. The scampi tasted like burnt bullets, lacking any scampi flavor and had a dry, rock-hard texture.
