El Charro Authentic Mexican - Wausau

The food was fantastic, and the place was bustling with activity. The servers put in a lot of effort! I wanted to order a second blended margarita, but they were out of them. What?! How could they be out?

This place is connected to other companies, basically like a mini-mall . El Charro 's section doesn 't stand out....BUT THE FOOD DOES! Yummmm

I absolutely love Mexican food and margaritas. They do them both right here. The staff is attentive and very helpful and courteous. I post a four in atmosphere because to be honest I've never been to a restaurant that the atmosphere just stunned me.

It was decent, but not exceptional, in my opinion. Whenever I’m traveling up North, I typically stop for Mexican food. I ordered the Chile Colorado, which in the South is usually made with square chunks of pork and has a bit of a kick. Here, it was served with what appeared to be leftover beef strips, roughly an inch long, and lacked any spice at all. It was completely different from what I’m accustomed to. I'm not saying it was bad; I just wouldn’t order it again. My waiter was fine—he checked in once for a tea refill and once for the check. The restaurant itself was clean and quite nice. Overall, I might consider another place next time, but I wouldn't mind eating here again if necessary.
