Cafe Massawippi -  Waterville,

This restaurant was excellent back in the day, and it used to be our favorite place to eat. However, I’m not sure if it’s still open. Does anyone know if it’s still in business?

A magical evening! happiness for all senses! Try everything. this can only be beyond your expectations!

Easy five stars. Calls itself a cafe but is so much more. Everything from start to finish was delicious. I had the duck, it was perfect. Carolyn had the veal, also perfect. This is a real hidden gem.

If you read on the menu "tuna and strawberries" you walk straight out of the restaurant since some combinations don't work, but we were intrigued by the good reviews and suggestions from the locals. Next to standard à la carte they offer a "tapas" style menu so that you explore what this chef is capable of. If you think "tapas" = tiny portions, think again 'cos these are very generous plates, we where stuffed after sharing 5 dishes. So back to the tuna and strawberries, it was spot on, so tasteful, so refined. Other delights: the foie with chocolate, and not one, but 3 portions a plate. This wacko chef stuffs squid with rabbit, the opposite of a famous French dish where rabbit is stuffed with see food. His excellent choice of ingredients was maybe best demonstrated in a tomato/mozzarella combination, so simple, so pure. We left room for a panna cotta with oranges and were left speechless. How on earth is this little gem hidden in a small place like North Hatley? Start your engines, drive to here, brake in time or you pass it! One final word for the staff: these people or so proud on the quality they serve, so helpful in your choice of food & wine that a six star rating for them is at his place.

We arrived in advance regarding our reservation and had to logically wait the boss offered us a nice little tasting very good table and cosy atmosphere
