University Gardens - Waterloo

We live two hours north of KW, but we have family here. University Gardens is our place for warm, friendly service and abdominal warmers. The choice of my husband is always the Thai Curry Chicken. My choice is always Thai Vegetable Curry Chicken. The height of warmth is just perfect for two tired travelers and the portions are generous. We don't just like food, we really like people. There is always a smile and more often than not, they remember us.

We've been ordering for over 18 years at this remnant. We ordered a dinner at Boxing Day for 6 with a few extra dishes. So disappointed... barely enough to eat for 6 people, let alone seconds, was never that! Definitely...small portions and food not the quality it was in the past. The next day I found out that new property since April this year, Will definitely not support this place again.

We have been eating at university gardens for years (depending on when we are in the city.) our last orders have been picked up by covid. we find the owners and the staff very friendly and welcoming. we never had a problem with the service. it was prompt and accommodating. our menu item is the chicken and/or veggie curry. it's delicious.

I used to always recommend this place to friends and family, but not anymore. If they make a mistake, they will only argue and not fix it. If you have allergies or special requests, I would advise against eating here.

The customer service at this restaurant was very lacking. We waited for 2 hours because they were busy, only to be told they couldn't give us a guarantee of when our order would be ready. They prioritized larger orders over ours, even though we were a family with children. It seems they preferred to give better service to their regular customers. We will not be returning. Instead, we will be trying out the newer Chinese restaurant, Sandys in Waterloo. It's disappointing how they treated us.
