The person taking my order passed it off to someone else who mistakenly gave me root beer instead of Sprite. When I took a sip of the Sprite, it was warm and had a strange smell to it. I mentioned this to the server, but they just shrugged it off. The meal itself was awful - extremely salty and the chicken seemed to be borderline fresh. My colleague agreed that the food was not good. I regretted coming back to this restaurant after a previous bad experience. Last February, I ordered their special - chicken and chips with a dip on a Saturday night. When I got home, there was no dip, the chicken was bad, and the chips tasted old and overcooked. Despite being hungry and having work to do, I ate it and ended up sick the next day. Needless to say, I will never be returning to this restaurant again.
Thought I would drop in and try their food. Since I was walking I noticed that they had not cleared their sidewalk of all ice and snow within the 24 hours as required by the City of Waterloo. If the management and or staff can't get out an spend a few minutes clearing their sidewalk to ensure the safety of those of us who walk I will never do business with them. Further when I tried to call them the woman answering the phone always hung hup when I requested to speak to the manager.
I like their service. I tried their food for the first time. I visited the store early morning on Friday and I was so hungry at that time. The man with a big mustache really impressed me with his friendly nature. His words take your time as there were maybe 2-3 cars in the drive-thru. but still, so calm and patient guy that was. A really amazing service.
The only positive aspect of my experience at this restaurant was that the food tasted good (for fast food chicken). However, there were several negative aspects that stood out. Firstly, the upcharge for a bottle of water instead of a fountain drink was frustrating. I waited 17 minutes for my order, only to be informed that my pie wasn't ready and would take an additional 7 minutes. When I requested a refund for the pie, the response was dismissive. I also observed a couple who had been waiting before me and were still waiting when I left. There were other small irritations as well, but I won't go into detail. Overall, Popeyes Waterloo needs to improve their service or risk losing customers. Apologies for the criticism.
The service at this restaurant was disappointing. I had to wait over 25 minutes, received a spicy sandwich instead of a mild one, and had to repeat my dipping sauce preference twice before they got it wrong. My sandwich only had two small chicken strips instead of a substantial piece of meat. It seems like there are too many cooks in the kitchen, but none of them were effective.
