Contribuiți la feedbackWe really enjoyed the black bean tofu, stir-fried spinach, and the salt and pepper vegetables. The owner mentioned they sometimes struggle to maintain a consistent supply of tofu, which isn’t surprising since it’s not always easy to find, even in Nairobi. The dishes are very appealing in terms of nutritional value, and we also recommend asking for their specials— we ordered some delicious Chinese dishes from the menu.
The food is good—not outstanding, but it's a pleasant change from the typical dining options around here. The aromas were surprisingly authentic, and the ingredients were fresh, with a lot of oils used in the dishes. I specifically went for the tofu, but they didn't have any available. I get the impression that they rarely offer it. If I stick around longer, I might give them another chance.
Considering the abundance of Italian restaurants in the area that offer very few vegetarian options (such as pasta with tomato sauce, roasted vegetables, or fries), it was a pleasant surprise to find a different cuisine available. The quality of the Chinese food was somewhat inconsistent: the local spinach in black bean sauce and fried rice were quite good, but the sweet and tangy dipping sauce fell short. Although tofu was listed on the menu, it wasn't available during our visit. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would recommend the restaurant. A note to future diners: be sure to inform the staff about any dietary restrictions you may have (such as avoiding meat, fish, fish sauce, dairy, and eggs); our fried rice was made without any issues. This review is an update from a previous one made on January 13, 2022.
The food is quite good—though not extraordinary, it offers a pleasant change from the repetitive dining options nearby. The flavors were surprisingly authentic and made with fresh ingredients, although there was an abundance of oils. I came specifically for the tofu, but it seems they don't serve it; I suspect they rarely do. If I stay in the area longer, I would definitely be willing to give this place another try.
We enjoyed the black bean tofu, stir-fried spinach, and salt and pepper vegetables. The owner mentioned that they sometimes struggle to maintain a consistent supply of tofu, which isn't surprising given how challenging it can be to source even in Nairobi. The dishes are not only delicious but also cater well to various nutritional needs. We also recommend asking about special requests, as we ordered some amazing Chinese dishes from the menu.
