Jinya Ramen - Washington DC

This restaurant is one of the best ramen spots in the area. I have visited both this location and the one in Virginia, and they did not disappoint. The dishes are flavorful and portions are generous. The quality of the food is also top-notch. I prefer to keep my bowl simple with the standard ingredients. The only downside was that the spicy bowl we ordered wasn't very spicy, but it was still enjoyable. The customer service was good. Parking is a challenge, but that's typical for DC.

Really cool ramen bar. It?s a multilevel, long building that lures you in as a customer. The atmosphere here is crisp black on wood with intentional lighting. Plenty of seating, both at the bars and plenty of tables for larger parties. Overall, just cool. The drink lists and food options are pretty solid. Highly recommend to start off with the Okinawan Punch (rum punch with a twist) and the creamy tempura shrimp. Both were excellent. As for the ramen bowls, staff will tell you there?s no best bowl. And after a couple visits, I agree. Each of the ones I tried were tasty and very generous in portion. All the way around, a good spot.

The food at this restaurant was generally delicious, though slightly too salty, particularly the karage. I was let down by the absence of hot sake on the menu. Our waiter was very pleasant, respectful, amiable, and polite, but the busboy was quite rude to us. At one point, he began clearing plates while some of us were still finishing our meal, which was not professional. While I understand it was a busy Friday night, rushing through service is not acceptable in the hospitality industry.

I have visited this chain twice and was equally satisfied both times with their vegan ramen. It can be difficult to find delicious vegan options in East Asian cuisine, but this place is perfect for anyone looking to try vegan ramen. I am not usually a fan of edamame, but their salted edamame was also tasty. The service was good, the portions were great, and I will definitely be returning again.

The restaurant is very good, but it is pricey. The portion sizes have not decreased.
