Bistro La Bonne - Washington DC

While this place may not be the be all end all of French restaurants in DC, it will give you the experience. Vintage wine posters? Check. Escargots? Check. Baguette? You bet! Get some snails with moule frites or coq au vin and finish it off with a digestif and crème brulee. My particular favorite here is the steak tartare. The service is great even for the very tiny space the restaurant occupies. The prices won't guillotine your wallet either.

I've been to brunch here countless times. It's a cozy little place, but they always manage to have seating available. Any meal that comes with a side salad is definitely worth it! I’m not sure what the dressing is, but it's so good I could use it to water my plants and imagine they'd grow into magical beanstalks. Don’t forget to order a side of French fries too!

Bartender didn't know the cheeses on the cheese plate, didn't know the cut of meat in the signature steak frites, nor the cheese in the au gratin. However, the food is the saving grace and this is a must eat venue. Bravo!

I adore this restaurant for its fantastic French bistro cuisine that is fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious! The staff is outstanding, surpassing what is typically found in DC. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable.

The kitchen stays open later than most restaurants (I believe until midnight), and the food is delicious. If you can, sit at the bar for some great people-watching!
