La Vie - Washington

Every single dish we tried was absolutely exquisite. I have complete trust in the executive chef at La Vie when it comes to any meal. Each dish offers a unique twist while also evoking a sense of familiarity, using a variety of ingredients that take you back to the first time you encountered these flavors, wrapping you in a warm nostalgia reminiscent of home-cooked holiday meals. The restaurant combines the comfort of home-cooked food with an eclectic mix of Mediterranean, Latin American, French, and Italian influences. Each rich bite beautifully balances sweetness and spice. The vegetables and meats were cooked and presented to perfection. If you visit, you will savor every bite and leave with a smile on your face.

I understand that there are mixed reviews about this place, but I had a fantastic experience. Our waiter was attentive and truly elevated our dining experience. The food was a perfect 10/10, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The view of the water added an elegant touch to the fine dining experience. I would definitely recommend it for a date night or special occasion.

My wife and I visited DC to celebrate our baby moon and had made a reservation for brunch at La Vie. Upon arrival, we were told that the entire restaurant had been booked for a private event and that they could not accommodate us. This was extremely unprofessional! When we made our reservation, this was never mentioned, and we received no call from the restaurant to inform us of the change. We were turned away, forcing me to find another brunch spot at the last minute, which was challenging with my pregnant wife. I don't know who the manager is, but this behavior is very rude and unprofessional. You don’t expect this kind of treatment from a so-called upscale establishment. We won’t be returning after this experience.

This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I was fortunate to have Dalton and Delsis as our servers. They were truly wonderful, warm-hearted individuals who kept us laughing throughout the night and were incredibly attentive to our needs. Thanks to them, our experience was delightful. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place for any event!
