Florida Avenue Grill - Washington

The service by far was short from amazing. It was very nice to see the photos of past guests and take in the nostalgic feeling the building offered.The menu offered a meatless option that was very good.

I would argue this is the best breakfast restaurant in DC. Homey, delicious food. Other restaurants with high ratings may be larger and fancier, but this no frills diner style restaurant serves fantastic food at a great price. Can’t go wrong coming here. Each meal was $11.95 (two meals in the attached photos). EDIT: We came back a second time to enjoy the wonderful breakfast (served all day) the last day of the trip. Take time to read the history hanging on the walls (literally).

Great spot for breakfast. Biscuits and gravy were really good, and the half-smoke was the best we've had! Everyone there is super friendly and although it's super busy they have a way to make sure you're taken care of and have everything you need. Will be returning to try their lunch for sure.

Best breakfast spot hands down, I frequent This restaurant because the food is great and service is awesome. I have no complaints at all, it’s rich with history and community. One of the last real mom pop shops left....

I had a wonderful meal that truly satisfied my craving for soul food. I was a little taken aback when I saw that the prices at the grill were significantly higher than what was listed on the online menu. However, after getting over the surprise of my total being a few dollars more than expected, I focused on the delicious food and thought about supporting a local gem, which made it worthwhile. Just look at this photo! You can almost sense the crunch and satisfaction.
