When we arrived in boveda, they told us we had no reservations, although I showed them the open confirmation. the restaurant was empty and the waiter told us that we only have one place. we sat down that he didn't offer an apology and the restaurant didn't seem to fit well so we left. my man and I never went out of a restaurant, but boveda just didn't feel like a good culinary experience.
My friend and I decided to visit dc again and because of boveda, our trip has much more fun. we loved how nice and friendly the manager and the waiter were assigned to us. our reservation was on and our table was ready to go. we stayed even until closing times because it felt easy to sit there and have one of the best margarita drinks we had. we enjoyed it so much that we came back the next night. the manager allowed us to sit on the same stand and even offered us to try a new sangria he had made and it was just another delicious drink! we visit boveda on our next trip and plan to bring more people with us!
Very uneven experience. the menu had sorte. the food was brought out irregularly, so the first in our party had their food in full minutes before the last group in our party. the waiter gave us the leak without checking whether someone wanted coffee or dessert what we did. also he said he could not confirm the parking lot, although the website said they did. we were not rushed (other than the control thing) and eating was good._
The decor is quite neat. Although is a tapas restaurant, most of the food is not Spanish. It is a mix between Mexican food in tapas or entrees Manchego cheese (probably the only Spanish item). The food was good. Service was slow as written by others. If you are in no rush, just want to socialize and drink with occasional movement of food, then is ok. I would recommend to order your drinks and first round of tapas so you are not left waiting. BTW, the place was empty when we were there...
