The Wander Inn Wartook Valley

Both my wife and I love this place, great ambience, very good food and pretty good service. A bit pricey but so is everywhere else these days. Hard to get a smile out of the young waitress is about the only negative I can think off. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $60–80

Stopped in on my way through the mountains to Halls Gap. An inviting outdoor area, comfortable and warm inside. Friendly service. Glad I stopped for an enjoyable break.

I visited the hiking inn for a relaxing drink and a "small" grazing plate. They have an excellent selection of local wines, and the grazing plate was substantial enough to feed quite a few people. The building itself is beautiful and would be cozy in the winter, while the outdoor seating offers great shade for the summer. Highly recommended!

The website and the sign at the accommodation state that they are open until 4 PM on Sundays. We arrived at 1 PM based on that information, only to find it closed. This is unacceptable. Had I visited yesterday, my review would have been more positive, as the ambiance of the venue is quite enjoyable.

The only restaurant in Wartook that can be fixed is the one serving Steak Hawich, which unfortunately isn't satisfactory.
