Contribuiți la feedbackThe food was great and the service was good. The only issue we had was that the chips were overcooked and too hard, but our server quickly remedied the situation by bringing us new ones. This was our second visit to the restaurant and the staff was just as friendly as the first time.
While on a family trip in Warrenton, we decided to stop at this Mexican restaurant. Despite its location in a strip mall, the interior was beautifully decorated with impressive metal art, wall paintings, and ornate wooden fixtures, creating a great atmosphere. We were a group of 2 adults and 2 children and opted for the lunch menu. We started with the usual chips and salsa and then proceeded to order dishes such as chicken burritos, chicken enchiladas, and rice, all of which were filled with delicious shredded chicken and tasty queso. The children's menu offered a variety of choices for a reasonable price of $5 each. Our son enjoyed his meat burrito, while our daughter had tacos, enchiladas, and rice. My wife ordered cheese enchiladas with guacamole salad and rice. The total bill came to $31 before tip, which we found to be a great deal for a satisfying meal. We were impressed with the portion sizes and prices and hope that the restaurant continues to thrive. One tip for improvement would be to offer rice and beans with all meals, as some combinations only included three entree items without any sides.
What a gem in Warrenton! The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant always seems to be busy in the evenings. The portion sizes are generous, even for children, so make sure to come hungry. They offer free chips and salsa that have a nice kick to them. My wife tried the special, El Melaque, and she loved it. The zucchini was perfectly cooked and not overdone, just as she requested without any mushrooms. My steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. I highly recommend this place.
I've been to the one in Culpeper numerous times and I tried the one in Warrenton for the first time. It was exceptional. I'm not surprised I liked their food. I love the food in Culpeper. The Warrenton location is larger and it's very attractive. The lighting is warm and inviting and is not your standard. Someone took time to create the ambiance and I appreciated that. In Culpeper I always get the Chori Pollo, but decided to try something new. We started with nachos with beef and I think chicken or pork. It was exceptional. Probably the best nachos I have had. I tried Carnitas for the entree and it was moist and flavorful. Can't wait to go back.
The shrimp tacos sounded promising on the menu, however the pico de gallo was filled with jalapenos (not mentioned on menu anywhere) and made the tacos completely inedible. In fact, the first bite I took nearly caused an asthma attack. The menu had some items clearly marked as spicy, so I avoided those, but this item did not mention spice at all. I've never had pico de gallo that hot, ever. Also, I didn't notice any cheese sauce on the tacos, which the menu said would be on there. Otherwise, the restaurant was clean, well lit, comfortable spacing between tables, and fast, friendly staff. I would come back and try a different item and specifically ask about heat levels in the food!!
