Inland Sea - WAROOKA

We chose to dine at Inland Sea Restaurant for my birthday dinner after reading many great reviews. I have to say that I had a different impression for the cafe, I had high expecations of the food given that many said it was fine dining. Its not fine dining. We loved the blues brothers statues at the front of the cafe, that was a great photo. We had booked given it was a Saturday night, but there was no need as there was only another couple and us in the restaurant. The outdoor garden was nice, it had an outdoor bar with music which had a pub feel. The menu is not only seafood but there is also asian dishes. The service was great and our meals came out quick. I had the beer battered fish and chips, I could not taste the beer batter. The fish was good but not up to the standards that I was expecting. My salad was bland and not dressed or seasoned. My meal came ouf with a lemon gadget which squeezes the lemon out which was different. I did not feel like I was at a seafood restaurant and you could not tell that the fish was freshly caught, it was more like a pub meal.

My family took me here for lunch for mother's days. Not only was it a lovely drive through surrounding areas at Yorke peninsula but also a really lovely lunch.Staff were welcoming, attentive and accomodating - the long stem single rose and complimentary champagne or wine on arrival was a really lovely touch - thank you.My daughter ate the steak and she loved it! My husband and I shared the truly amazing seafood platter!! So much food, such great value for money and the seafood was superbly fresh and all locally sourced, which I thought was brilliant!!!The wine list was comprehensive and we enjoyed a lovely Chardonnay with our lunch! The restaurant is much more than what it looks like from the front - so don't judge this amazing little gem by its cover!!

Called in on Mothers day with no reservation but no problem to staff. We chose to sit in the sun outside and staff were just so friendly and helpful. A free glass of champagne and a rose for mothers day a very pleasant surprise. My wife is a coeliac but no problems cooking calamari and chips to perfection in separate uncontaminated fryer. I chose the beef rib for $18 which I highly recommend. Tender as and perfectly matched gravy and farmyard fries. All this at a very reasonable price and draft beer stubbies for only $5. We saw someone being served the seafood banquet and it looked great.

So happy with this restaurant. Meal was wonderful and the staff went out of their way to serve and cater for our needs. The food was excellent and worth the money. The chefs took pride in the presentation of the dishes. Will definitely be returning.

We arrived for 7.15 and were warned when we arrived there would be a delay as so many had either booked or wandered in at 6.30. They were very apologetic and clearly worried about delays. But really we didn't notice anything and the entrees and main courses were just delicious! We had garlic bread, oysters kilpatrick, King George Whiting, Barramundi and our young teen had the kids' meal of butterfish. Everything was superbly presented and just melt in your mouth!The decor was delightful and the service lovely. We recommend coming here for a special meal or just a lovely night out!
