My family and I had two separate meals at The Warm Springs Grill but I will review one of them right now. Last night (the first meal) we had experienced their dinner service. We had ordered the buffalo wings, the steak salad, the meat and cheese platter, the kids spaghetti, and the bison burger. Although the food adequate it was below average for the expectations my family and I had for this quality of a resort. The waiter was obviously unhappy, and seemed specifically irritated with the most minimal of requests. For example when our appetizer (the buffalo wings) had arrived, we received a very small container of blue cheese. Because we requested a double order of the buffalo wings it would be standard to provide a larger portion of the condiment. The waiter was irritated with our request for additional dressing. We are willing to pay for extra anything but the complimentary attitude is not needed. There was a silver lining to this story however, their bison burger was unlike any burger I had ever had in my life, although the presentation of the bison burger is in a open face manner, it was delicious none the less. At first my son thought that one of the buns was missing. He asked the waiter how do you eat this the waiter again seemed irritated by our need for additional service, and gave us a look of what are you stupid . Eventually we uncovered that the burger is intended to be folded in half. The steak salad was nothing more than wilted greens and 3 slices of thinly sliced poor quality steak. Not impressed. Finally from the children 's menu my daughter ordered the cheese tomato pasta. There was about 23 cents worth of noodles, and looked like something dumped out of a spaghettiOs can. In general, the greatest area of opportunity for this restaurant is the service.
Dinner at the chinook room warm springs lodge was delicious, we all ordered something different . Halibut . Steak , pasta and a filet. It was amazing
This review is really for the Chinook Room at Kah Nee Tah, which is different than the Warm Springs Grill. The Chinook Room is the expensive restaurant and the Warm Springs Grill is kind of an upscale snack bar more , part of the hotel lobby. Having said that, we did eat at both places. The food was good at both places, but the ambiance and view in the Chinook Room were off the charts. Of course, we were the only diners at the time we ate and so had that magnificent panorama of mystical hills, sun and clouds through the wall to wall windows all to ourselves. Our server, Matthew, was fascinating and attentive and let himself get dragged into our deep philosophical discussion always a plus for a waiter. As mentioned, the food was wonderful and the cocktails were great. Granted it was expensive, but it was worth it. We had an early anniversary celebration, a magical experience and hopefully it will be the first of many celebrations at Kah Nee Tah.
It doesn't appear that much effort is being made here. Below average bar food served in an uninspired setting.
