Charleville R.S.L Bistro

We decided to stop in Wahn on our way to Charleville for lunch at this bistro. We were impressed by the cozy atmosphere and the quality of the furnishings, all made of blonde wood. The menu was displayed on a TV screen next to our server, who had to press a button to send our order to the kitchen. We opted for the classic schnitzel and burger. Our $23.00 chicken schnitzel was delicious, served with perfectly cooked chips at no extra charge. The meat was juicy and tender, the chips were crispy and flavorful, and the salad was fresh. We washed it all down with a cheap bottle of Brown Brothers Historic Series Chardonnay for $17.00. It was a quiet day and we were grateful for the satisfying meal.

Always try to visit RSL clubs when we travel. our meal and over half an hour to come to our table. the afteros of my wife were less than usual. a buck of mostly stone maischips covered with a mountain of our cream and shattered. with mint, which saw and tasted. no buzzing or avocdo! not really afteros. my calamari looked and tasted reheated and was warm to cold and so chewing it was unusable. the baine marie vegies were hardly warm and tasteless. I returned my meal to the desk where the staff could not be less interested. I said I don't want to replace, but no refund. After we finished our drinks, I returned to the theke to continue to diagnose, but no one would come out of the kitchen to speak to me, and yes, tyhey has seen me. I called the manager a few days later, who didn't say anything about what he could do with it.

We were in town on a Monday night and the dinner specials were such good value. Great country cooking for the family at very reasonable prices.

Service was really friendly and food came out relatively quickly. Staff were keen to serve. The food was a bit expensive though.

We were warned by our motel host to book for dinner and he was correct. We arrived at 6:00 and by 6:30 there was a queue and some people hadn't booked. They opened up another dining area luckily. Drinks were very reasonably priced. The meals...are large!!
