Blackbird Kitchen And Cocktails

We have been to blackbird numerous times. We decided to make a reservation for our anniversary because we love the cozy romantic vibe of the restaurant. I remember the first time we came which was about a year ago, the service and food was incredible- its what made us go back a second and third time. This time service was very slow, I heard people on both sides of us commenting about how there food was not cooked right and the service being an issue. We had a reservation for 7:30 we didn't leave until close to 10pm and we were only two people!! A shame because the food is excellent.

I used to be in the restaurant industry, so I suffer from a need to observe the operation when I go out. From the chef, to the bartenders to the waitressses and the bellman, the whole staff were focussed on the best possible service to their customers. The menu was great, and the food was delicious. The drinks were top of the line and professionally served. Even the busboys devotion to keeping the water glasses filled to the top was just professional and to be comended. The place is small, and the tables aren't perfect but for the kind of professional delivery and the delicious food an drink, they have won a new regular.

Food was amazing, we did the tasting menu which was incredible, not pretentious at all, and so high quality. Have felt this way about very few restaurants on LI. The vibe was nice, but the restaurant is quite casual so it made the quality of the food surprising. Would go back in a heartbeat! The folks who worked there were delightful as well. Overall can't wait to return.

I’m upset that I have to leave this review but as a business owner myself service matters and we had bad service Friday night. We have been to this place many times. We have turned people onto it. We wanted our son to experience the great drinks and food. I made a reservation. I made sure I was on time. We ordered drinks and apps. We then put our entrees in. The table to the right of us then showed up after us. Our apps were great. We got another round of drinks. Then we waited 30 min, 45 min no entrees. We ordered 2 pastas a burger and the chicken. The waitress did come over 2x to say it’s coming out soon. I went to the ladies room. Many tables packed but no food on the tables. Weird. I finally said something to the waitress and she said I’m sorry would you like another drink and my husband said yes on you of course which is what she should have offered. She made a shocked face. Then the table to the right gets their entrees one being a burger. Probably my burger. My husband stands to talk to the hostess to get the manager and now the table to the left gets their entrees. I walked out. My husband said the “manager” which was actually the owner came over and was not apologetic in the least bit. The waitress said the chicken we ordered takes longer. You tell us that now. No excuse what about our pastas and the burger our neighbors got before us? The owner could have saved this but did not. My husband left money for the apps and drinks we did have but I can tell you this I’ll never go back there!! And I’ve told many about this experience and will continue to. Poor customer service!!

The food was amazing . I was blown away on how good and consistent each dish was. We were there for the first tome and ordered a Wray of appetizers . Let's just say I will be a regular.
