Contribuiți la feedbackI had an opportunity to get take-away from Joe's Thai on 4 July 2015, and it lived up to expectations. Husband was very happy with his Massaman, Kid was very happy with the Spring Rolls (they looked fresh, and a good size), and there is a Special Fried Rlice as yet untouched (we got it just in case Kid needed more). The fried rice is presented beautifully, even in the plastic container, with two overlapping pieces of cucumber on top of the rice. All the food was still piping hot when we got it home.<br/ <br/ I ordered The Drunken Noodle Stir-Fry (beef), which was delicious, and so hot it made my tongue itchy. Nothing wrong with that. About 2/3 of the way through, I needed a break from the chilli (and I'm no chilli lightweight), or I was full (plenty of beef in those noodles), because I put the rest away for the next day.<br/ <br/ The only problem with this dish, and it might not have been a problem for most people, was that there were a couple of clumps of chicken fat in it, stir-fried with the beef. Maybe it was in there for the flavour, but I'm more of a texture person, and I don't like chicken, so I went through the dish with a fork finding all the chicken fat. It turned out there were only two large clumps, and numerous small pieces of chicken fat or meat (too small to bother identifying it or taking it out).<br/ <br/ Otherwise, the price was good and the wait time was 15 minutes or less (just before 6pm on a Saturday night). When I went to pick it up, the server was engaging, and the restaurant looked fabulous with colourful lotus flower candle-holders and red and yellow lotus flower-folded paper napkins decorating the tables.
Wow! Very popular place and understandably why. Joe can cook real Thai style and knows how to use the right spices! The chili is real and dishes authentic. Hands down, a lovely decor with excellent service. Very hard to beat!
Excellent Bang for Buck. Went to Joes Thai Food Restaurant tonight.Authentic thai food taste, not easy to find in Canberra.Excellent service, great food and good pricing. All round, a great experience.Lucky we got there early, as it was getting busier and busier as the evening progressed.I think people are starting to 'find ' this new gem in dining. The locals in Waniassa are certainly frequenting this place. The food 'spiciness ' can be requested, just let the service staff know.I highly recommend it for people who like thai food and/or asian tastes.Definitely be back soon!
Eating was delicious, some of the best thais I had in canberra. the aubergine filled with huh was the highlight of the meal. will definitely come back to try more from the menu.
Everything was delicious, eating came fast and good prices. we have the green curry, pork roast, mint filled aubergines and drunk noodles.
