George's Espresso - Wangaratta

I had stopped going to this restaurant for meetings last year because the staff were not as friendly as other cafes in and around Wangaratta. However, the coffee and food here are exceptional, and the service is always very fast. I decided to give it another try recently, and while the staff were still the same, the coffee and food had actually improved.

The venue was relaxed and basic with a good view of the river (if sitting on the outside deck). The menu was limited but the food was good.

This was the worst service I think I have ever received anywhere in the world. Everybody moved at snail pace, no tables were cleared off. There wasn't that many people in there for the amount of staff they had on but it took an hour to get our lunch order. That is no exaggeration, we timed it. The price of the food was exorbitant for what we got. And they charged 20% for a public holiday. We wouldn't mind that if you got a decent service.

We regularly call in for lunch and find the service quick and efficient. The food is tasty and we'll presented. Price is excellent.

Had coffee twice, sat outside on the deck. Both times we had to tell the staff to clear up plates etc on another table as sparrows were everywhere. Coffee was ok. Dogs were welcomed, they sold doggie biscuits but we're mouldy... (didn't kill the dog!) but makes you wonder about their food. Day 3 we found better coffee shop 2 doors up!
