Hunters Cafe - Wanganui

Very slow service to order, waited at the counter for ages, tables were filthy as was the toilets. Took half hour for 2 toasties burger, food was average. Only 2 people seated eating when we arrived. Waited 45 minutes for 2 shakes coffee that never came, another table sat down and within 5 mins got a coffee. Asked for a refund for our drinks and the guy who served us, was confused on what we ordered. Finally got a refund in cash and he asked US to give HIM $2 change as he over refunded. We spent $52+ in the Cafe and get treated like that, won't go back.

Menu looked good, decided on what we'd have, rung bell but no staff appeared. Waited 5 mins somebody bought a meal out from kitchen to a table but didn't acknowledge us. We left walked up the street and came back 10mins later people still waiting to be served after ringing the bell. Still no response so we left. Such bad customer service! Even if the man was busy, he could've told us to wait or come back in half an hour, we wouldn't have minded that at all.

$11.80 for a cheese burger that had a meat patty,piece of plastic cheese and a couple of green salad leaves..Definitely not worth it.

Very welcoming and cheerful lady who makes a great coffee. The Roast Beef Salad sandwich was fresh and awesome, with a decent amount of meat, not that thinly sliced stuff.

Great dinner stop on the way to Taupo. Good takeaways, fast and friendly service. They have kids toys and a baby change table.
