Sansai Japanese Restaurant

Sensai was simply amazing. I loved the sushi, the spicy chicken bulgogi, and the service was fabulous. The sushi chef and his wife simply made us feel at home (we would have dinner there weekly). They unfortunately had to move on and the restaurant has now undergone a face-lift and has been turned into a Korean restaurant, under new management. I have checked it out twice, and it was a lovely surprise! I really miss Sensai however Donco is just as good (although there'll be no more sushi and the cuisine is quite different). The atmosphere is lovely and intimate. It's a small place, so I normally try to go on weeknights when it's less busy.

Very slow and indeed poor service from a supposedly good Japanese. The waitress effectively ignored us for 40 mins while we waited patiently. One staff on a Friday night is not enough. Will not visit again.????????????????

Looking for a bite with little if any expectations led us to wander down Pakington Street.Light rain made our decision more urgent. We dropped in to a busy Japanese restaurant called Sansai.The feel was certainly Japanese and the Sashimi delicious. Our minds temporarily wandered back to Japan. Okonomyaki, rice and tempura vegetables topped it off.The staff were friendly, welcoming and positive in their outlook (which is so important)The experience was a pleasant surprise.

The prices are very reasonable, the food is delicious and the way they present the food shows how much time and effort they take in preparing it. Definitely worthwhile visiting!

This is small, so it might be worth booking if you think it could be a busy night. The decoration inside is a step up from the usual sushi bar. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is mostly good Korean/Japanese, in particular i like their salmon sashimi, and the Wafu steak. It's BYO and it isn't silly money.
