Black Basil Thai restaurant

What a treat to have a restaurant of this quality in Highton! The food is always of the same superb standard. The chefs never skimp on the freshness and quality and quantity of vegetables--where Asian food often meets its test. (I am a vegetarian.) I always get takeaway, because the restaurant is so close to home, and the service is always fast and friendly. I am so happy that this restaurant exists in Geelong!

Great flavours in the food not so great in the service. 1 1/2 hours from sit down to arrival of main courses?? Best to order take away it is sooo much quicker.

Might have just been unlucky, but one of our meals came with a big cooked grub. That would be forgivable, but when we called the waiter over, he just picked the caterpillar out and went and showed it to the cook - no apology, no explanation, no conversation, nothing. Just walked away with it and it wasn't mentioned again. No discount even though my wife could finish the meal. What the? We won't be back. Pity - my meal was good!

Regular customers, always a pleasure to return. Good food and good service. Good selection of Thai staples on the menu, all worth a try.

A wonderful meal out for our wedding anniversary. Entrees were brought out quickly and they were so fresh and wonderfully presented. Mains were amazing! Highly recommend here for a fun and friendly meal out.
