Nostrano - Waltham Forest

We had the most fabulous time at this restaurant. The food was excellent, certainly didn’t skimp on the portion size. Ambiance was great as was the service. The only thing that let it down (and why we gave it a 4 out of 5) was the waiter and one of the waitress chewing gum! Not great to see as she took our order, delivered our drinks and then the meal. Apart from that it was a great night.

Fantastic food, perfectly cooked. Great service too. Would highly recommend and will definitely be eating there again.

We have been for 3 Sunday’s on the turn. Top quality food and service. Nothing is too much trouble and the food always freshly cooked and served with a smile.

I ordered cod. It took TEN MINUTES to tell me there was NO cod so He recommended the seabass. I ordered the seabass. 5 MINUTES LATER he tells me NO SEABASS EITHER. The manager DIDN 'T bother to come over to apologise. I had to call her over. She REFUSED TO GIVE my partner A FREE DRINK for the **** service and delay. she ARGUED and shouted that it was OUR FAULT that they ran out of 2 dishes. Disgusting way to be treated by the incompetent manager . She said SHE 'S HAPPY IF NEVER VISIT HER RESTAURANT AGAIN. What a BITCHY UNPROFESSIONAL thing to say. She spoilt our evening infuriated us with her lies. SHE made us wait so long, we were the LAST ONES to leave. I HAD TO TELL her to P1SS OFF to shut her her big mouth up . WHAT A DISGUSTING WAY TO BE TREATED. She SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF. WORST MANAGER EVER . WORST RESTAURANT TREATMENT I 'VE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE.

Amazed that I had to scroll down so far in 'Chingford Restaurants ' to find Nostrano.... We went there with some friends who were visiting from Lille in France. As my taste buds have been seriously re awaked, I decided to go the whole hog but then chose the veal cutlet as my main to follow my salt and pepper squid in a light tempura batter Others started with olives, mozzarella and tomato or bruschetta followed by v large pizzas or chicken and mushrooms... When my cutlet was delivered, diners on nearby tables were noticeably impressed it was so large that it overlapped the plate, I did try, honestly, to do it justice but, in the end had to ask if I could have a 'doggy bag ' to take home the half that I left Affogatos[ with Baileys] helped us finish off the meal appropriately....... Obviously, we will be back, because there were things on their specials board that offered the veal real competition......
