Contribuiți la feedbackIf you want to discover and try something new, you will find the restaurant in Lüneburger Heide on the edge of Walsrode. We stayed on a spa short trip for 3 days at the “Mercure Hotel Walsrode”. For dinner we went to the restaurant “others” which belongs to the hotel and is located just a few meters from the hotel, in a conference center. The restaurant is an adventure guest house, wants and is also different for those who want to be “other” (according to advertising). We have tried it and can confirm that the restaurant is already different from other restaurants. This is on the one hand, in size with a total of 260 indoors and outdoor spaces, which are distributed over two floors and on the other hand, in the architecturally interesting but also unusual ambience. The open design of the restaurant, the modern, cozy furnishings and the loving details have already impressed us and also delighted. Almost in the middle of the room, a curved staircase leads to the upper floor, where there is another bar area and also a wine cellar with an imposing chandelier in the Jägerecke. A separated smoking area is also located at the top. Both levels are comfortable and very modern in style, and this is also nice for walk-impaired, which the two levels are connected to an elevator. In the middle, you can look from the ground floor to the substructure of the roof cover, which corresponds to an imposing height. The entire restaurant area, with partly open kitchen and beautiful bar on the ground floor, already spreads an effect that contributes significantly to well-being. In the vicinity of our table, there was the so-called “steam” – a circular, rotating bench with table and integrated beer tap in the middle. Very original and ideal for smaller groups. Just try something different. Our feeling of well-being has also contributed to a decisive degree, the very nice and attentive service, which is simply different and also wants to be. Our advice on food and beverages was not only very friendly but also professionally very competent. Even small requests for amendment to the courts did not constitute a problem or any additional costs. There are changing action cards, whose regional dishes are freshly prepared and also "live cooking" is offered again and again. During our presence there was a culinary event (Dinner Krimi in a room in the restaurant and in the following week the music group “Godewind meets Friesenbuffet” was announced in the restaurant area. We ate this evening from the Weekly menu à la carte. As an appetizer we had a very tasty “tomato orange soup at 4,50 €. In the main courts, we both felt that there is still air in the quality of our food. So the roasted welsh fillet with herbal sauce, rag vegetables and roasted meat, was too little seasoned and tasted just fad. Even after seasoning did not bring back the desired taste. At the second main course of my Rumpsteak (€21.50 with pepper sauce and potato croquettes, I had replaced the green beans with roasted onion. I had almost gowned raw onions that didn't taste me. Otherwise, my steak was a good average. Also our dessert “Apfelstrudel mit Vanilleeis” at €4.50 was not bad, but we already ate better. During our presence, we were always supervised by various service personnel and also asked if it tastes and if we still had any wishes. We could also observe that after other guests left the restaurant, the staff quickly cleaned the tables and prepared everything for the next guests. For us a service as you wish. Another pleasant aspect for hotel guests is that the restaurant bill, can be booked in the room. In summary, we can see that it was something else to visit an adventure restaurant and not regret it. If we are close again, we will be happy to return to this beautiful restaurant. For all others, “a way that is definitely worth it”.
