I used to come to this spot more often as a student since it was close to campus. My friend and I really enjoyed the food, and the fact that it wasn’t too overpriced for an authentic meal that was considered home made. When covid happened it was challenging to come visit them. I have had a few recent visits to them didn’t have any issues, except that their prices almost doubles and their portions got smaller. If you were lucky enough to get the same portion size as before, now it’s filled with vegetables and rice and barely any meat. My friend and I just encountered the most unbelievable thing we have seen so far. We came on on a weekday, the restaurant was pretty calm not too busy it was around 7:30ish when we walked it. I walked it, staff looked at am, I signaled with my hands it would be for two, each staff put their hands in a different direction to sit on a table. I sat by the closest table to me. One of serves, referring to her as server A, came to put down the paper menus, asked if ice water was okay and threw the napkin/chopsticks/spoon across the table not out it down, she threw it down). My friend walks in and gets seated, now server B which is the person who just hates her job on so many levels) comes and asks for our order. Mind you we have been seated for less than 5 minutes, we asked her for more time. She comes back and takes our order 10 minutes after that. We order a galbi hot stone combo tofu combo, Serve B, took our order. She didn’t allow me to speak, she spoke over me while taking my order, I barely finished my sentence and she was on her way to put the order in. As we wait for our order, Server B was bring up the side dishes that were being tosses on the table. The amount of disrespect that was given to us during our services. I was very confused on why the hostile passive aggressive behavior was being directed towards us especially that were there an hour and a half before closing time. I also understand that in certain culture the “friendliness” of serves and continuous checkups from staff is now really a thing and I don’t mind it but I was confused since we didn’t really do anything to be treated like that. It felt like we can in 2 mins before closing and she was ready to go home. As our food cane out, we requested if its its okay to get more of the side dishes, our request was ignored for 20 minutes. While we wait for our extra side request, server B got the bill and put it on the table, we didn’t ask for the bill, we weren’t close to getting the food done, nor did we ask for any to go container not that she gave us the chance to). The check came and we ended up putting our cards down, the payment gets processed and we didn’t want to leave a tip on our cards. We were planning on leaving a tip in cash right before we leave. Server B came back to check on the signed check, she didn’t end up taking, rather she stayed right behind my friends and was looking at the tip amount. She also asked us on why we didn’t add a tip, requesting that its a normality and usually people do it. When we said we wont be leaving a tip, she left the table and got her cart for dirty dishes and started taking the food away. Even tho we weren’t done, she took the main hot stone, our bowl that still had food it in and everything else without even trying to ask if we wanted to go containers. We were still planning on leaving a tip until server B came with aggression and take our meal away. To summarize, our food was thrown away over a server being emotional because we didn’t want to leave a tip on a card, she didn’t allow us time to even tip her in cash like we wanted to. I think what I am still shocked is the audacity to treat guests so badly, like they are offering the food for free, serve them like absolute trash , demand a tip and when the tip gets declined the server decides to throw the meal away regardless of if you finished or not. Again, I am not sure what is going on with the service of this restaurant but its so sad to see that the support of a small business leads you to be disrespected.
Food was delicious! We had bulgogi, beef short ribs, seafood pancake, and hot stone bimbimbap. All items except appetizers are combined with a bowl of hot tofu soup. Mild spicy is better than no spice if you want any flavor, and it is not hot at all. The banchan was awesome ?. They serve purple steamed rice, which made our teens smile. The only soft drinks available were canned Coke and 7-Up, and we were served water when we sat down. Service, seating, and tableware were basic. This restaurant is located in a small strip mall and we easily found parking on a Saturday at lunchtime.
Parking is terrible here so get here early if you want to eat in this plaza.Banchan kimchi, bean sprout , seaweed, spicy cucumber, and fish cake. You can ask for more once you finish.Mushroom tofu soup I got mild so it would have more flavor. It will be a bit too light if I didn’t get it mildSeafood pancake filled with seafood chunks in there. Highly recommend and eat it while it’s hot. Use the dipping sauce!Bibimbap spicy chicken it’s pretty good. Portion is decent as well. The food comes out relatively together and quick. I’d recommend this spot if you’re nearby and craving Korean food!
It's kinda a standard tofu house from around here. The food was above average and the side dishes were alright. It is a bit tough to get ahold of the servers when I went since they were more focused on their Korean clientele.Food: 4/5
