Brindabella Hills - WALLAROO

Gorgeous spot for a weekend wine tasting and lunch. Scenic spot with lovely views all round. Wine tasting were delivered in a knowledge friendly manner (wine was bought to take home). The cafe provided a delicious variety of mains and especially dessert! The vegetarian quiche and salad was enjoyable and my friend enjoyed the duck. Lemon curd meringue smash with raspberry coulis was thoroughly enjoyed. A popular spot so would recommend booking ahead.

What's not to like! The wines tasted were wonderful and the information provided was clear and interesting and presented in a warm and friendly manner. We also enjoyed lunch here (presented by Two Girls Catering) and it was delicious. The building was warm and inviting and the views of the surrounding countryside are very appealing. We'd certainly recommend a visit to this winery and restaurant.

We had eaten the creations when Two Girls Catering had operated another restaurant in a nearby location, and at an excellent catered dinner in a private home, so we leapt at the suggestion that we try the new location.The menu was imaginative, interesting and well presented, relying primarily on local produce. The service was excellent. We weren't in a rush to leave as a torrential downpour had started soon after we had arrived, but there was no pressure to leave and Robyn came out to chat with us and even gave her recipe for the caramelised olives which featured among the gems on the Tasting Plate.Noticed on the way in that the winery itself is for sale: I hope the new owners keep the cafe in location.

Great little restaurant slightly out of Canberra but well worth the drive ,very good menu and the wine tasting is excellent.

This afternoon we met friends for lunch at the Two Girls cafe. Stunning views and a glorious location. Service was very good and the pate was the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Where it fell down for me was the Wagyu Sirloin at $38. It was less than 1 cm thick served with an ordinary little salad and a few chips. I asked for medium and received a very rare steak which I sent back. They threw it back in the pan and it came out well done. I requested to cancel but no, we'll get it right (a laudable response I thought) but it came out rare again. I just ate what I could of it.... As we were leaving and paying, I mentioned to the now quite grumpy waitress (it was a hot day after all...) that if there's a whisker between rare and well done, consider a different cut for the menu. At that time I was advised that the steak is as it comes. At the time of ordering would have been the time to mention that, it would have saved everyone a load of trouble as I would have ordered something else! Summary: a stunning location, wine just ok for the price and food and service overall pretty good. I'd go back just for that pate, just don't order the steak....
