This family-run restaurant is operated by a family. It is located in downtown Waldshut and is even open on Sunday. The seat is warm and friendly and the staff is very helpful. I'm here 3-4 times and am enchanted every time.
Hidden behind the main shopping street, the restaurant offers relatively good Vietnamese cuisine. We had Cha Gio large spring rolls for appetite makers, served hot with the traditional Nuoc Cham diving sauce. Followed by Pho Bac Noodle Soup (I believe from the northern part of...Vietnam). The broth was well seasoned with a lot of beef, spring onions, diaza onions, green leaf vegetables and fresh chilli. They serve large portions. Service is fine. You get a little dessert treatment over the house. Not bad to find this little Vietnamese culinary hideaway. Your menu is quite expensive and you will get either Thai beer (proposed in Germany) or Vietnamese beer, cheaper compared to local beer. Recommended and we will return.
I like Vietnames food and I was in Waldshut and did not want to eat in another Asian restaurant which had a buffet. I am not keen on buffet. The restaurant itself is quite nice but the food is just terrible. The owner's child was running around shouting. I have nothing against children but I go to a restaurant to eat and not a kinder garden. The service was just about and I was not impressed by the quality of the food or drinks, flat cola. Once was enough. I had a sweet and sour soup and a chicken curry. There was hardly anything in the soup. There were more vegetables in the chicken curry than chicken.
The restaurant is a non-frills one. If you are looking for Asian food, it is an ok choice in Waldshut. We have mainly been eating the Beef Pho, which is ok. Service is below average
