Restaurant Alte Turmuhr - Waldeck

We were here for lunch and eating was great, just like the service. there are two restaurants in the catering. one is the regional speciality, the other is raised kitchen and closed on Sundays and Mondays. the courts here are in the middle price segment, but are still presented spectacularly. the personal is friendly and efficient.

That was in order. nothing extraordinary. that is beautiful. I would only eat here if I stayed in the hotel and it is practical. expensive for quality. I would not make a special trip only for this restaurant.

We started with an appetizer outside with a view of the great lake. then we went in and had a good meal and a great red wine.

Good parts first. we have eaten there on a beautiful evening and decided to eat on the terrace where it is excellent. the interieur of the restaurant is stylish and looks cozy. our first cure was good; ingenious, well prepared and high quality ingredients. but it went downhill. the service was slow to not present, the waiters were mostly invisible. After our appetizers had been clean, we sat there a few more times and enjoyed the intention, only slightly curious, where or where the main dish was, finally we excited the attention of the waiter and were asked if we wanted to order a dessert. our main dishes were brought to the table shortly after. my teller with eating looked out and tasted as if it were from a completely different kitchen than my appetizer, it was boring. I mentioned this to the waiter when the tellers were cleared and as a reward a free coffee was offered. I said it would be nice after dessert. after that we were allowed to enjoy the view again. When we finally directed the attention of a waiter to us to order a dessert, we were told that the kitchen was closed. I asked to talk to the manager, but apparently there was no manager and as a reward we were offered another free coffee. the bill for 2 aperitifs, 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes and a bottle of wine from the cheaper end of the list amounted to 200 euro. all in all a bad show for a restaurant that clearly holds a lot of itself.

The food was in order, but the waiters were very rude. there were few people in the restaurant, so we asked for a table with a view of the sea, but they said they were reserved. it was not true, however, because nobody was after us and the hotel reception said the last booking was 8; it was long after when we asked! it was a very strange behavior. eating was delicious, my man liked especially his fish, but it was too expensive for what it was, and was very disappointed by the rudeness of the staff. I would recommend to try ate in the small town, which is very close to, with good eating to reasonable trips and very friendly service.
