Just called by this public house for a drink outside on a glorious sunny day , my friend did the honours and bought the drinks , I stayed outside. He says it was like walking into a time capsule, it still had its original fixtures and fittings , including gas lights but not working I think. The beer was nice and cold , there was outside seating at the front of the pub ,overlooking the very small village of Heath , in the Wakefield district of West Yorkshire. The views from this location face south west to north west so on a clear sunny day you can watch the sunset along the Pennines, with the town of Wakefield in the foreground and the Pennine towns and villages eg. Emily Moor TV mast in the back ground sky. The pub has a round Star of David window at the front. It 's a beautiful stone built building, as are all the other buildings in Heath . Heath common to give it , it 's proper title, is very ancient and common grazing rights are still used, there are quite a few horses on long tethered lines. It 's just the place to sit or walk around and take in the wonderful views , with the option to go for a drink. I love visiting this area and recommend.
Food and service great. The beer range was all the same tasting Ossett stuff.
Everything was good. very beautiful old world public.
A cosy, traditional pub with a great range of beers, spirits and everything else on offer. A warm, welcoming staff surrounded by the amazing Heath Common. Favourite pub in Wakefield by far!
