Shorty's Famous Hot Dogs - Wake Forest

Im 69 yrs old and still go I ng hot dogs we use to go my mother had 11 kids a singke mom and we went on Fridays and its a plant at the window thats still there love the the first to the third genalrachion

My Husbands family likes it here. We have gone multiple times over the last year. Once I got a CB and it was so bad that I said never again. Yet my hisband gets a cb every time. Once i had to take my Fries back bc they where soaked in grease. Thats when I learned they refry them after they cool. The place doesnt run smooth if the lady with the green hat isnt there. I also cant stand the fry guys nasty pony tail. However i do enjoy the atmosphere of the game room in the back and the rich history. That said I think things changed after the business changed hands. Todays order was for Four. 3 CB, 5 HD, 4 Fountain drinks and two frys.

Everytime i get Chili cheese fries they're smothered in cheese but half a spoon of chili. Highly disappointed each time. When I called they had me on hold for 30 minutes then just hung up

0 stars. Stood in front of the counter for a solid 5 minutes in front of some guy counting his tips he received throughout his shift. After 5 awkward minutes he glanced up and asked if he could help me…. Not a big deal, whatever… my main reason for the 0 star is I asked him for a small bowl of chili to go. He looked at me like I was speaking Japanese. He then exclaimed the owner quit selling bowls of chili because of the high cost. I hope the owner sees this post. I offered to pay $10 for a tiny bit of chili and the employee refused to help me. I’ve been a patron for over 14 years and it’s sad to say but my time is finished with Shorty’s. My guess is, it was getting close to closing time and the employee was just too lazy to take one last order and shooed me off. I wish the previous family who used to run the business was still in charge running the place.

The atmosphere was unwelcoming from the start. I think we walked in after some sort of disagreement with a previous customer. There were some sanitary concerns and overall upset staff not wanting to interact. The food was unsatisfying, we didn’t finish eating what we ordered and I don’t feel well (stomach wise). I do hope that this family owned business finds itself again. I also think it should be inspected for health reasons.
