Fuji Sushi Steakhouse - Waite Park

I recently moved to St. Cloud and have visited this restaurant twice already. I tried the lunch bento and the lunch roll specials, along with some sushi and sashimi ordered à la carte, as well as gyoza and fried scallops as appetizers. The gyoza was quite tasty and I would definitely recommend it. However, the fried scallops were overly breaded, and all I could taste was the breading. The chicken teriyaki lunch bento was excellent, and I would definitely order it again. The rice was satisfactory, especially when enhanced with the yum-yum sauce. As for the rolls...

I'm not one to immediately assume the worst, as I believe it's important to maintain a positive outlook. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely; I really enjoyed the lighting. Our waiter was fantastic—friendly and attentive. I do wish they would ease up on the mask policy, but I still appreciated his service. However, the main problem was the food. It felt overpriced for what was served. My girlfriend's dish was unappealingly presented, simply a jumble of vegetables and meat drenched in teriyaki sauce on a plate.

Had teppanyaki and the meat was all terribly overcooked despite ordering medium rare. Service was sporadic. Super frustrating that we were unable to be seated or even added to a waiting list until our entire party had arrived.

The one and only place in the Cloud for sushi! I've tried that new sushi spot and Lund's, but this is the go-to choice for delicious and safe sushi, bento, or hibachi. If you're new to the hibachi experience, be ready to share tables and socialize with other diners around the griddle—it's part of the fun!
