So disappointed 30 minutes before lunch reservation, received a call when travelling to restaurant, to say lunch is cancelled! Such bad form, struggled to find another lunch spot, thankfully Torlesse Wines welcomed us with an amazing platter and glorious service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

The rack of lamb was tasty. The duck was dry and overcooked. None of the food seemed to be cooked at the time. Everything seems to be reheated. Certainly the duck was cold in the middle. Would not eat there again. Meal type: Dinner

A charming and romantic ambiance for a date night with my husband! The warm, cozy fireplace was perfect for the breezy nights in Waipara. I highly recommend this spot for other couples in the area; the steak and lamb rack were both decadent and delicious. We will definitely return for our next visit. The menu sounded exciting. However, the food was reheated leftovers from few days ago. The meat was still cold and vegetables completely dehydrated. The price tag is equivalent to high grade restaurant yet food is worse than a backstreet soup kitchen.
