I love to eat here. My favorites are the Lemongrass Chicken Sandwich, the Spring Rolls, Imperial Rolls, Fried Egg Noodles, and the tapioca drinks and pudding. The pho's are also great, and a bunch of other things. They make the French baguettes they use for their sandwiches, and will not use them if it sits on the case too long because it gets hard. The portions are a good amount and the menu on Google maps is not the most current. The prices have gone up a little, since by a couple dollars. Service is good and fast. You can sit outside at the Wailuku location, the tables are clean and the area is shaded.
If you warmed up the bread you maybe the best bale of them all.. great new paint job and looking very clean inside.. bravo!
A rare spot in Maui for Vietnamese food! They offer a wide menu of noodles, rice, and sandwiches. The Vietnamese fish sauce base dipping sauce is good for rice based plate lunches. The fish was a bit too dry.. but the shrimp was good. The pho was literally the only pho I've tried on Maui. They only have a few types of toppings probably because less demand for other Vietnamese toppings like tendon, tripe, beef balls etc. The rare beef was tender enough. Ba-Le is a well known chain in the rest of the world.
For me Ba-Le is one of those restaurants where I have a set favorite order the same thing every time. My go to order is always the tofu pho with veggie broth a Thai iced tea. Fun fact: their Thai tea has a rich tasty flavor is one of my favorite go-to restaurants to get my Thai tea fix.
