Contribuiți la feedbackMy partner and I are big fans of Mexican cuisine, so we were thrilled when we came across Montezuma's. The menu seemed promising, so we decided to try out their nachos and fajita salad. Unfortunately, the salsa on the nachos was disappointing and tasted more like a Bolognese sauce than a fresh, zesty salsa. The beef in the fajita salad was tough, and there was hardly any salad in the serving bowl. Despite the presentation, the overall experience left much to be desired.
We have been coming to Montezumas (usually for lunch) on and off for the past 11 years. We always have friendly service and great food. Especially love the chicken enchiladas.
Finally remembered to have lunch at Montezumas and really enjoyed the new menu, margaritas and friendly service. Great atmosphere as well.
Absolutely amazing service and food. Drinks were delicious, loved the Mexican punch and I recommend trying the Enchiladas Acapulco it was soooo good. The other people I was with also thoroughly enjoyed their food. Ambience and decor are also great.
Montezuma's looks the part - the dining area is dark and intimate with lots of evocative pieces of Mexicana decorating the walls. The hostess was nice, too, chatty and informative. The big let-down was the food - usually an ominous sign for any restaurant. Doesn't seem to be a problem here, though, as our hostess said the place had been operating for 33 years. Menus in dog-eared plastic covers looked like they hadn't been updated in 30 years, either (except for the prices). Speaking of prices, this is not a cheap-eats place. Our meals were bland and totally unmemorable. Were edible, so I guess that is something. I have had meals from two other Mexican eateries in Wagga a little further up Bayliss St that many would describe as 'takeaway joints' and not only is the food much cheaper there, it tastes a whole lot better too. The coup de gras came as we paid when our hostess - always charming and friendly - said she had no interest in visiting Mexico. From someone running an Mexican restaurant - or at least one that aspires to be even a little bit authentic, it didn't offer any encouragement that things might improve.
