Saturday afternoon lunch at a rollicking brasserie was a lot of fun. It was fun to watch the table nearby drink from an enormous keg size glass container of beer on tap on the table. Our group dined on casual hearty food: Cassoulet, MAC and...Cheese, and a more modest pitcher of excellent local ale. It was all delicious. We were wise to let our young student friend, attending Concordia, lead the way!
My husband and I, on a rainy day in Old Town, popped into Les Brasseurs for lunch. It doesn't look all that big from the outside, but inside it's quite large with a cool atmosphere. We ordered a dark ale each and I had...their Bacon and Chicken Poutine which was huge and very tasty and my husband had a wrap (good). We liked but didn't love the beer but would come back to try other beers. Overall, a nice spot to stop.
The beer flights were decent. Some of the white beers lacked flavor, but I enjoyed the amber. The poutine with pulled pork was just okay, though I may not be a fan of poutine. The pretzel was tasty but overpriced. Service was quick and efficient.
We really enjoyed our dinner her. It is right in Old Montreal. The waitress was so friendly and the food was very good. My son has eaten at the original in Lille, France and was pleased to see a few authentic items. Great atmosphere- we...ate inside.
