Shack 512 - Volente

The experience was just average after a day of outdoor activities. The appetizers were better than my main meal. The ribs were too spicy for me, but the hot wings were enjoyable with just the right level of heat. The salmon, while tough, had a delicious flavor.

The restaurant has amazing views. I was happy to see that they offer entrees. I absolutely loved the lemon aioli, I put it on everything - broccoli, potatoes, salmon, and chicken. I wish there were more affordable options on the menu. Unfortunately, they were out of draft beer when I visited. Be sure to take the 11-minute gondola ride up and down, but be cautious near the handicap parking area as there are no signs and we initially walked down a very steep road.

The view at this restaurant is stunning! They provide a water bowl for dogs if you bring your furry friend. The burgers are tasty, though a bit smaller in size. I would recommend trying their burgers. The steak kabobs were decent, but not outstanding.

This is a recommendation from a friend and we went on Memorial Day. No waiting, and very prompt service. Loved the food. There?s a small hike (a set of stone stairs) to reach the restaurant which adds to the charm. You can drive to the restaurant, butparking is on the side of the road and very few. The hike seemed to be a better option. We ordered the coconut battered shrimp,3?s company, Mac and cheese kids meal and the Lakeside s?mores. Everything was yummy! The view is amazing, without the crazycrowd you see in Oasis or Ski shores cafe. The only thing I would mention is there were not much options for vegetarians/vegans.

The drive out is nice, but the road is very winding. Parking is at a premium here as well, so be prepared for a steep walk. Nothing jumped out at me on the menu, so I went with a burger. I had a Sunset BBQ burger and fries, and they were good. I also had a Jalapeño Peach Mule. It was nice and cold, and tasted good, though you definitely tasted the jalapeño. My wifehad the Meza's Camerones. She was warned that they were spicy, and they were. She ended up rinsing them in her water to coolthem down a bit. The service was good, and lake view was very nice. The restrooms were clean. We enjoyed our time there andcertainly come back.
