L'Appart - Vittel

First you need to make a reservation, or, for dinner, be there around 7.15pm Second, make sure you're not later than 7:45pm. There is only one service starting at 7:45pm. Once you agree with this original service, you will not regret. The owner and the cook, the only persons serving you, will warmly welcome you, present the menu and advise you. The food is delicious and the recommended wine perfect. A very pleasant and memorable evening, after a spa at Vittel Thermes.

Again such a welcome, unbelievable service, food and drink. Big thank you to you both for making our visit so special. Best to book a table especially for Thursday - Friday evenings. Be on time opens at around 19:15, service begins at 19:45. Weekly menu, but you have a wonderful choice between 2-3 starters, 2 mains and 3-4 desserts. Thanks again Chris

It was pure coincidence that my wife and I went to L'Appart yesterday. We stumbled upon it because we chose Vittel as our stopover on the way back from South France, and L'Appart was much recommended here on Tripadvisor. Our expectations were quite high, but they were exceeded on every level. The restaurant is tiny and warmly decorated. We were warmly welcomed by the Maitre'd, Terry, who made us feel like dining at a friend's place. One look at the menu and you know that you're among people who do everything with passion, a love for food and quality, and only the best, local ingredients (almost every course comes with something from their own backyard garden).We chose the menu à 44€, selected the Foie Gras with mirabelle and plums as a starter and Osso Buco for the main dish. The Foie Gras is a signature dish. I can't even begin to describe it, so I won't. Try it for yourself. The Osso Buco was so tender you could have sucked it through a straw, came with Zucchini and Fries. Fries you'll say? Yes, these were handmade and - as Terry explained - fried in the beef fat from the Osso Buco. You haven't had fries before you have tried these. We had asked Terry for recommending a red wine and he recommended a Madiran which also coupled perfectly with the Foie Gras and the Osso Buco.These courses were followed by an excellent cheese assortment (with white-truffled honey) and - instead of a dessert that we skipped because we didn't know where to put it - Terry offered excellent Armagnac and a to-die-for Eau-de-Vie de Poire which his uncle had made.When I saw the check, I almost thought it was made out for only one person. This is the second or maybe the third time I have eaten at L'Appart. The food is so good I have gone out of my way to schedule a stopover at the excellent local Mercuré Hotel, just so I can eat in this little haven of gastronomic excellence. The visit is always an education in how to cook local produce and without exception everything I've had on the menu has always been scrumptious. Not only is the food wonderful but the welcome I have always received from the urbane and charming Thierry, (whose exceptional front-of-house delivery perfectly complement the food) makes me feel that I am visiting friends. Thoroughly recommended especially if you are a cyclist - do make Vittel a stop - there's a great cycle shop in the town and then you will have the chance to come here ):-That is how I came across this lovely restaurant the first time I visited Vittel on a cycling trip.

I had the chance to lunch and dine in this fantastic little restaurant several times. The interior is very cosy, offering just 5 tables the name is well adapted to the room.L'Appart is definetely the restaurant with the warmest welcome I ever had been. Both Thierry and Frank are absolutely passionate about their profession and they love to serve their clients excellent food and wines with a personal touch like ingredients from their own garden or meat or fish from family or friends.The offer a great selection of excellent wines (all of them also available by glass) and I would always follw Thierry's suggestions for wines well adapted to the served dishes.I would drive quite some extra miles for this restaurant and cannot await going there again.
