Cervejaria Antartida - Viseu

Probably one of the worse places I’ve eaten in a long long time. Went there early Aug with family following do king of our cruise. It’s located in the main square and looked nice from the outside that’s what initially attracted us. Right from the start, the service was terrible. Stood around in 33 degree heat for ages and no one came over to seat us. Eventually I approached the staff and asked if we could find our own table to only be greeted with grunts and a less than welcome tone. Eventually we sat near the counter at the back. No cutlery, table was dirty, no menus, rocking table etc. Again, ignored for at least 10mins before me having to ask for a clean up of the table and a menu. By this time, the table next to us was complaining as they received some of their food (not all) and it arrived ahead of the drinks they ordered first. I could tell it was going to be a bad experience. Finally decided to order… waitress was not helpful. Kids wanted just plain chips (fries) and she didn’t understand. The menu had loaded chips (fries) but she didn’t get it. We ordered some tapas olives, bread, etc. with our drinks to see what the food was like. The “selection of bread” arrived first it was 6 7 pieces of cut up baguette. It was also stale. No section here!! Olives were ok but not the best. Chips arrived much later and were cold. Then my beer arrived and was flat. We’d had enough. We asked for the bill to get out of there. Waiter asked “how was the food?”. We told him all of the above and his response was “well at least you’re honest”. No apology. No offer to refund the stale bread and cold chips. Just went on his way. I’d AVOID this place at all cost

I really enjoy the tipic Portuguese dish called Francesinha and they are normally the same everywhere you order them. The difference here is that it is a Francesinha de Alheira . I was reluctant to try it, but I must say, I was not disappointed. The texture was different, but pleasant. The flavours were, simply put, new! I can 't compare it since it 's the first I 've eaten. Now, it is not a 5 star dish though, but a different approach to a really common meal. Talking about price (some people might be interested), 15€ with the biggest dark beer. Reasonable, I think.

Local agradável, staff eficiente, comida muito bem confeccionada e serviço rápido. Altamente recomendável.

Espaço agradável, gastronomia razoável, nada de fenomenal! Estava à espera de mais e melhor. Mesmo assim, agradável e simpático.

We just had tge most awful experience at this so called restaurant. We had to wait 30 minutes for the drinks and the appetizers, then, 45 minutes latwr the waitwr came to twll us that tgey hace forgotten to punch our order and that we will have to wait anorher 39 minutes if we want to eat. At that point, wgen we want to leave the Manager came and charged us for rhe wine but he didn't event apologized for the mistajw. In short, we waited for 2 houra at the table and we didn't eat what we wanted. This is a horrible place that I will not recommend you at all.
