The Heritage Natural Market Cafe

I've been a customer at this store for years, buying bulk crimped goods and crystals. Unfortunately, in recent times, an older woman with long hair who works there has made false accusations to other staff, suggesting that I've either tried to steal or have stolen items, which is simply not true. I've noticed that I am being monitored closely whenever I visit. Additionally, it seems that other people of color are also being followed, whereas white males don't seem to be targeted in the same way. I even called to complain to the manager, though nothing came of it. If you’re looking for crimped goods and crystals, I recommend visiting the Crimson Farm in Norfolk or shopping online at Mountain Rose. For crystals, you could try Beads & Rocks in Virginia Beach, Edgar Cayce's area, or look for them online. It's important to support businesses that appreciate your patronage!

I had the mushroom quesadilla and the tempeh BLT (TALT), and I would definitely go back!

We’ve had the black bean burger several times, and it has consistently been good. I also enjoy the veggie wrap. For a while, Heritage was my favorite place, but since the staff has changed, the once friendly and accommodating atmosphere has completely vanished. The current woman at the counter has a noticeably sharp edge. Additionally, although the previous staff was willing to customize orders, the new team seems incapable of keeping menu items in stock. Today, my first three choices were unavailable: no soup, no vegan coleslaw, and no avocado salad dressing. While the staff member offered a weak excuse about why I shouldn’t be concerned about the missing items, the overall impression was a lack of interest in serving the local vegan community. If you decide to eat here, be prepared for a frustrating experience and a general indifference from the staff.

Great location about 1/2 mile from oceanfront. It's a nice size store, easy for quick stops...IF you can resist looking around.

I love this place. Actually, I kind of live there. They have a wide selection and are almost always willing to help...
