Sirena Serious Eatalian

Sirena is one of the few restaurants in Southside that offers Italian cuisine infused with spices. Unlike many other places in the area, where the bold flavors of Italian spices are often toned down, Sirena embraces them fully. Be sure to make a reservation and treat yourself to some truly well-prepared Italian dishes. You won't be disappointed!

The food was good, but there are some important issues to address. In one of the pasta dishes, we found a piece of steel wool, likely from cleaning the pan or pot. It could have seriously injured my mouth or tongue. I informed the server, but she wasn’t able to resolve the issue. A man later approached our table with a smile, asking if everything was okay. We paid our bill and left, but I felt that our concerns were not taken seriously.

The owner is rude and unfriendly. We had a mix-up with our reservation, and no one bothered to call us. When we arrived, we were informed that our reservation was canceled and that we wouldn’t be seated. The owner even claimed that he lost money because of us. As someone who was born and raised in Italy, I can say that this is not how you should speak to customers. I do not recommend this place; it feels more like Italian-American cuisine rather than authentic Italian food.

Excellent Italian food, I had the spaghetti with mussels, very tasty, almost the same taste as when I was in Italy, the waitress was not so attentive, we sat at the bar, and the guy sitting next to us got their full attention, we were inexistent, but the owner came to rescue and took care of us well.

Consistently THE BEST Italian food in Hampton Roads. And one of the best restaurants in Hampton Roads. See for yourself! And don't pay attention to some of the other reviews this place is fabulous. I'm a regular here and I've never been disappointed and I'm always pleasantly surprised.
